BDP-370 sound issue

Have a BDP-370 connected via HDMI to the Onkyo surround sounds (HT-R380) to Sharp Aquos.

Have just performed the " NETWORK UPDATE" successfully but when playing a Blu-Ray the sound will drop out for a second or so, then resume. the picture quality is not affected.

It is not the disk as have tried with a new disks and is still the same.

This issue was here before the upgrade but nowhere near as drastic. before you could watch a film and it would happen say twice through the complete film, but now after the upgrade it is happening every 2nd minute and is un-usable

Anyone have any ideas

BDP S490

When using the bdp s490 on netflix,lovefilm,vidio unlimited all is fine but on BBC iplayer it keeps freezing up.

Our tdl 40 nx723 tv is fine as is a freesat hd stb on iplayer, all use the same router the ethernet cable from the bluray to router has been replaced but it still freezes on iplayer.

Any ideas please or is anyone else having this problem.

Hi everyone - really hoping this is a simple question

My Sony HDD HXD 995 has stopped recording scobby do! I have set the timer ( on series link) but the symbol on the guide is a gray timer, not the normal red one. I have tried to cancel it and redo the timer action but to no avail.

Anybody with any ideas?

BDP-S185 freezing when BBC iplayer is selected

Hi all,

sorry if this is mentioned elsewhere but I couldn't find it anywhere.

I recently bought a BDP-S185 in February 2012 with the attraction of BBC iplayer and lovefilm etc. And its been doing it's job wonderfully until yesterday. I hhave just got back from a two week trip and when i tried to watch iplayer it's caused my Blu-ray player to freeze on the 'wallpaper' (normal blue line bckground thing, but without the menus).

It wont respond and after quite a while will just turn itself off. Everything else works, and I've tried turning it off at the wall and trying again, a factory reset (though I think thats only regarding the settings) and the firmware is up-to-date.

Has anyone else had a similar issue and if so, how did you resolve it?

This model is marked as having Netflix (there is a sticker on the bluray player), Netflix is on the box, and Netflix is advertised as being available on this product. Yet there is no Netflix button on the remote control (RM-ADP090).

I am a Netflix subscriber and have access via the TV to which my Sony system is connected but am baffled by the difficulty in finding how I access Netflix via the bluray player. How do I get to Netflix on the player?

Frozen HD

I have a RDR-DC200. It has previously frozen whilst downloading from the HD to DVD. Last night it froze whilst trying to delete a "jumping" recoded program. I have to unplug it from the mains to be able to restart it. it now won't turn on. I am waiting to see if it reverts back to it's pre-programed recording (it did this previously). Has anyone else had this problem and, if so what did you do about it?

RDR-HXD870

Follow the instruction to make a firmware update but instead to get forward past DISC-DWLD

It says POWER OFF and then get to sleep and nothing further happens.

Tried to burn the disk in every way I know and I´ve also tried with different burner proggs but the result remains the same...

Anyone?

Hi there, Please can someone advise. I have acquired a DVD disc with a film with VOB files. It will play on my PC but not on this model Recorder.Please advise if there is any solution available? is there a format problem because I have had the Recorder for 3 years?. After recived the file from divx I haved copy on USB Stick and haved try open the file in the front usb connetion of the player. Answer: Cannot read file.....

Hi. Just purchased a Sony kdl55hx853 television and am trying to ascertain exactly which types of hard

disk drive's are compatible with this set. For example would it be USB 2.0 or 3.0. compatible? Also, I believe that the USB viewer supports FAT 16 and FAT 32 file systems. What would be the best HDD's that have FAT 16 and FAT 32 file system support?

Hi all, hoping there may be others who have identified the cause of this problem.

My s380 is connected by cable to my router, recently it stops after a few minutes during playing from Lovefilm and ip[layer and returns to the menu. I tried power off and on, factory reset, different port, different cable, npone of which helped. I can watch on my laptop OK so I know it's not a broadband/router issue.

SVR-HDT500 Play Back on a Different TV

Hi Everybody,

Is there any way of copying a recording from the hard drive and playing it back on a different TV. You can't copy to an external hard drive unless it is formatted via the recorder, but I suspect that would make it unreadable by other devices including computers. Is this the case?

My remote has stopped operating the HDD recorder RDR HXD790.

It still operates the TV but none of the buttons operate the hd recorder. I unplugged the recorder and took the batteries out of the remote overnight hopping it would reset but it hasn't.

Any advice what to do?

Hi all

Just got a new AV receiver with 4 HDMI inputs and was hoping to use the HDMI out on my beloved RDR-HXD870 for multi-channel sound and do away with the coaxial lead I was using. However, according to my amp, I'm just getting stereo; so to reiterate, can I get 5.1 audio over HDMI or not?

I have inherited a MINT RDR-HXD860 and set it up fine with my Toshiba LCD TV to work with built in FREEVIEW.

Tunes 74 TV channelsOK and signal strength is GOOD.

However BBC ONE only stays on screen for 4 seconds then it switches to BBC TWO by itself! ( or a blank screen- TV mode from HDMI, or switches to radio by itself)

All the other channels are stable and work fine.

Any ideas?(my wife needs Eastenders!)

When finalising a DVD on RDR-HXD870 Recorder it seems to 'lose' important info like date & size!

I've tried everything I can think of (read the manual cover to cover, checked the Tips etc, pushed every button I can find)... this is causing me a real problem and I've stopped finalising my DVDs until I can find a solution so any info would be much appreciated please :

When I record a programme off the TV (usually onto a DVD so I can archive) it helpfully adds the title, channel,

length, size, and date - so I can easily distinguish between episodes for instance, by looking at the date and the

size etc . This is great.

Then I finalise the disc and whichever version of Finalisation I choose they all include only title and channel - all

the other info is now untraceable! Grrrrr.

Surely there must be a way to view this info for each recording AFTER finalising?

BDP-S490 thumbnail support for Mezzmo DLNA

I own both a Sony BDP-S490 and a Sony KDL-37EX403 TV. I use both of them and Mezzmo DLNA software to watch recorded SD and HD programmes.

The older TV is able to display thumbnail pictures of the recorded programs within the menu system yet the newer Blu-ray cannot.

Why is this?

Can the software be updated to the BDP-S490 to give this feature as Mezzmo programmers confirm that the information is being sent to it but it's just ignoring the data?

Bought the above player last week, connected it up to HDMI TV through powerline adaptor to broadband. Worked beautifully and we relished in accessing Lovefilm, YouTube, etc. The Blu-ray hasnt been used for 2 days, we have just gone to watch something and its saying no network connection - physical connection was OK but no internet connection. Braodband working fine as can access BT Vision through visionbox. Have checked all the cables to ensure connected. Now what?

RDR-HXD870 stuck in UPDATE mode

My RDR HXD870 updates about 4 x per day which is normally fine but now it locks in to update which completely freezes the machine . When this happens the only way to release it is to hold in the power button for 7secs. I have tried a hard reset and a firmware update...both failed to cure it. Any ideas anyone please.

Today (Thursday 18-Apr-2013) at 14:15 hrs I found my RDR-HXD870 showing UPDATE (in a dim display similar to when idle) when it should have been recording a programme. The remote did not achieve change and there was no TV picture when I switched to HDD. So I powered off the machine by pressing the power button on the machine for a second or two.

I then attempted to carry out a manual software update which started OK but then after 33PERCENTAGESIGN completion, it just froze and then the TV picture disappeared. I thought it may be a channel problem since there seems to be a lot of transmission activity in the area (NR14) at the moment. Having started OK, like the software update function, the channel update got to about 85PERCENTAGESIGN and the TV picture from the channel update disappeared just like the software update leaving it stuck in TUNING.

I will try a firmware update from Version 1.65 to the current Version 1.7, but I'm not confident that this will achieve anything.

Any solutions gratefully received.

I have just recently connected my new tv (Sony Bravia KDL55-HX853) to my DVD recorder DMR EH 50 via a scart via AV1 scart. My DVD recorder is not receiving a signal to be able to tune the channels.I have checked my aerial connection, it is fine. Has anyone else had this problem with this model of tv, as it worked fine with my old Sony tv.Does anyone know how to rectify the problem?,as I only have a scart connection into the recorder, and cannot test it via usb or HDMI.

Hello

New problems.

A I have lost Bravia Sync - am told to check cables etc - but all seem to be OK - the Recorder goes off when TV switched off so the connection would appear to be good. Sadly it will not come on when, for instance I press the Recorded programmes button as it did up until a few days ago.

B Does not play any sound in Fast Forward (HD programmes) in x2 or x4 as it did up to a few days ago.

C The whole on/off sequence is now very, very slow.

Does the machine need reloading of Firmware - rather as a computer needs its Operating System cleaned out and reloaded from time to time?

At present, I am running the latest Firmware - 4.21.r8585 from July 2011. There does not seem to be any further upgrade.

If that is the case, am I safe to apply this upgrade again in the hope that it may overwrite the existing, which may have become corrupted or just lost a line or two of code?

Over the past few days I have reset the machine a couple of times, checked the HDMI cables etc., even disconnected it from the mains electricity - but all to no avail.

Does a Disk repair destroy all the programmes stored? Let alone future programme info that is setup?

Unable to play my music streamed to BDP-S790, help?

For some reason, I am unable to play my music or in fact any files via my BDP-S790.

I am using Windows 7 and media player to share the files over homegroup....my computer is detected on the BDP but for some reason only under photos and video NOT music. Even under photos and videos it is still unable to recognise any files.....VERY frustrating....if I can't solve this quickly the player is going!
