Disappointing there be no Netflix for my NX723, £1300 smart TV isn't so smart! I don't understand when companies get so engrossed in DRM, a lot of people don't even know how to make full use of their tech.

Crazy thing is if I use my old Bravia remote from my 2005 TV my 2011 Bravia responds to the last channel command.

Seriously Sony, in Freeview mode the Return button doesn't do anything, perfect button for the last channel recall. I think it be sad if people have to purchase universal remotes just to get that function back.

I too find this a huge problem and not the slick interfaces and function that I expect from Sony on my NX723

Settings timers take way too many button presses, why can't it usterlise the colour buttons as shortcuts?!?

eg: Yellow: Reminder Timer, Green: Record Timer, Yellow: Cancel Timer

I recently purchased a 40NX723....

Such a expensive TV and it can not recall the last channel in Freeview!!! Huge let down.

Looking at the RM-ED044 remote the Return button does nothing when viewing a channel so this would be an ideal button to action it.

Please update it!

Most frustrating is that I used my older Sony TV remote from my other TV and it can do exactly that to my NX723!

Also the light sensor in the enabled TV's is not very effective, it seems to not change from when my room is pitch black, with the bed side light on or with the main light on.

Otherwise I love my NX723, such a nice menu system.

PCV-LX2 - PCI or PCI-E? Graphics Upgrade...

Hello!

I am still a daily user of my Sony PCV-LX2 which itself still running OK for day to day computing. Only now it is suffering a bit with lots of online video media.

1: Can someone confirm for me that the LX2 has a PCI and no the PCI Express?

2: I'm quite sure there is no AGP either?

3: How easy is it to upgrade the graphics card via the PCI? Plug in and boot up?

I've made several improvements to my LX2 which has helped it to run to this day. 2GB RAM, USB 2 via PCI, new HDD and new TFT as the original burnt out after 4 years of heavy use!

Please help me, I'm an advanced home user but when it comes to tinkering with the actual parts inside I am in the dark!

I'm sure it's an integrated graphics.

I was told in college that you are able to disable the graphics card to run one from the PCI... How I do that I haven't a clue!!

I think the LX2 only has a PCI and not PCI Express, so I'm limited to about 128/256mb graphics card anyway. Better than the tiny 16mb which is in it now.

Also thinking of getting a 1440x900 screen so I'd like to run that too.

Lots of research to be done later!

DFP connection, thats great thank you!

As for the just released L series in Japan - Wow, I do hope they bring that to the UK, just stunning.

I've been thinking, if my display does die and I buy a DFP to DVI converter, I might as well just get a new and better graphics card too in the PCI slot, is that possible? I've only upgraded memory and USB 2 to date.

I thought I was a Sony nut... You guys are VAIO mad!

Sony PCV-LX2 - Screen Problem

I've had the LX2 since it was released all the way back in 2002.

I am experiencing problems with the 15" TFT screen recently where when it starts up it's very slow at starting, then there is a pink hue then a few seconds later it's fine.

Is this a sign of the light tubes inside going?

Is there a way for this to be fixed?

OR does anyone else have or know of a LX2 TFT screen going? I've looked on eBay and all over the web with no success.

If you do not know that the LX2 was one of Sony's first Lifestyle PC's.

It uses a special connector for the TFT screen, anyone know it's possible to connect some other monitor to it? I know it;s not a standard monitor D port or a DVI.

I love this PC to bits, it's running great even after all these years! I don;t want it to die
