you can find out the detail's of your usb hubs go to the computer manager by right clicking your computer icon and clickihng on manage

the usb's will be listed in the device manager there you8 can check the speed ect ect

when you installed the new drive , did you set it to slave or master you have to set them by changing the little white block , which should be placed over some pin's next to where your ide cable conect's ( if it has ide )

you might what to go to the bio's and check to see what they are set as restart your machine and press f2 every second or so , it will say what device is in master ect

let's go through this again just to make sure im understanding properly

you bought a brand new vaio and your computer has came installed with viruse's or when you installed your modem ( new or old ) ?

have you got two modem's in your pc or two connection's active ? or two active line's say a pay as you go and a broadband ,

did you make sure you turnt off the alway's dail in the internet option's ?

sound's like you have a friend / foe with you lol i seem to be having strange thing's happen to me also

did your pc come installed with any upgrade's for windows ?

it depends how you decide to do it

if you edited it with premiere then no it wouldnt happen like that because you would have edited all together as a whole

but with nero vision it will play like that unless you merge the files together

this will turn it into one long stream

look as its yur footage the best thing to do no doubt about it

is to use your premiere, edit the footage export mpeg 2 then either use click to dvd or nero the choice is yours,

no you dont need to use premiere at all if you have nero thats the whole point in having it

right if you are going to be doing this often with your own footage then i advise that you just use premiere and click to dvd making sure that you are using uncompressed mpeg2 in click to dvd

but if you are using files from the net downloaded ect ect

then its good to use nero

nero vision and express with transcode any avi file to dvd in the burn process divx xvid ect ect

it doesnt have to be mpeg with nero vision or express it just has to be an avi file

note that the process of transcoding the file can take up to four hours (if the project being burnt is hour and a half )

for this i advise you get the vision package this will allow you to make a dvd title screen in seconds burn your avi file to disk while transcoding it,

hope you understand a little more about dvd file's (mpeg2)
these by the way can be burnt to disk using nero in about 10min
or vob or iso ect ect

where are you buying it from the internet shops normally have memory search engine's which tell you weather it is compatible enough

i use this place its a little expensive but its a good company next day delivery always !!!

i have never had different unless it is ordered on the weekend

theres a simple answer to why it wont work on your dvd drive is because it is the rong file

the reason it works in windows media playeer is because it plays the avi file on the disk rather than playing the disk as a dvd

if you tried it in a dvd player like power dvd it wouldnt work

you have to burn mpeg2 to disk or transcode your avi file before burning it to disk there are a number of programmes that will do this all for you nero being one of them

but i advise since it is your own footage edit it in premiere le then export uncompressed mpeg2 and then take it into click to dvd,
or download a demo of nero vision or express and burn it that way

ohh i should have said those arnt the specs for the drive

mentioned fire wire 800 with

the specs were from an external hard drive i had ( lacie )

and that indeed did have the fire wire 800 on it

i was just using them so you knew the speed

it doesnt effect the time weather it is external or not

i think you will find it runs on a 6pin which is a little faster than usb 2.0

i think ( im not possitive )

usb 2.0 12mb's transfer rate

i link 6 pin around 18mb's

i could be wrong on the exact time but i know that the i link is still faster than the usb 2.0 unless it is a 4 pin which i dont think it is

it could even be a 9 pin and they are the fastest external connection

me personally i would get the internal version which might i add is only 79.99

i've seen that happen to t.v's the colour go's a purple colour just in the top corner

i think its due to some sort of magnitism from other eletronic appliance's

you want to add two extra drives

i reccomend removing your dvd-rom drive and replacing it with the hard drive i did this same process if you want it to be running at ultra dma mode five which im betting you are you have to also buy a new ide ribbon cable

when you look in your pc you will be able to see the difference one of them has loads more wires inside of it

there will also be a free space on the dma mode five compatible cable as your drive is runnign off that at the moment

to take the dvd-rom drive out you have to first un screw the metal vaio chassis on your pc and then inside there are about 8 clips some of which are a little hidden and have to be got at via a mini screw driver or pen these will allow you to remove the front plastic cover (one with the blue vaio light)

i also reccomend that you use the same drive which is installed that way its a safe bet even though most of them would work

i betting you have a western digital i would stick with them

some keyboard's have media hot keys

they would be placed on the top of your keyboard if you do it might be installing incorectly and causing a folder to open

ohh im getting confused i thought the rx series is newer than the rs
isnt the rx the one with the little dip in the top ????

i dont know how your pc comes apart but on mine it is fairly easy to change the drive

you have to obiously take the chassis of the pc and then to get to the front of the bay i had to unclip 8 clips for the whole plastic front bit of the pc then you just slide the drve out

sorry to say you wont beable to use your recovery disk to install the software alone either as pro doesnt have fbflash euntime or something and i was unable to find it

all vaio's firmware updates use it so does the bios update and it is impossible to get the recovery disk or the firmware updates to work after, installing a new os

it might be different if you upgraded though

im a little dumb
i think about my pc to much and just consider evereyone else's to be the same lol

if it is like the cd drive chassis theres a chance it could still be alright as inside mine it has loads of different screw holes that arnt even used ????? it also has holes all around the inside of mine like a string vest lol

i could basicly bolt anything anywhere aslong as it was able to get to its conecting point

im not sure on this but just because the psu is a certain size doesnt mean that you have to get the exact same all you need is it to be the right power and the right connections,
