crap idea tbh, any photo or image will work, samsung had a better idea with the blinking. sony probably didnt enable it because the front camera is dark.

just use the website. the app only loads up to a certain amount for some reason, you also can only view those made for mobile so some of videos especially music wont work.

have you updated it? you could just use a 3rd party one. realplayer is really good, much better than stock but you lose the throw function.

chrome is no good. doing some benchmarks on it, its quick, about 20% faster than the already fast stock browser and even faster than the ipad 3 browser but it just feels jerky, glitchy etc + no flash.. not a huge fan of the app screen. not sure why they couldnt allow to use the live wallpaper as the background to the app screen. and the small apps ir control needs work, needs more buttons.

the bbc homepage does save the desktop version but not the iplayer one. on bbc homepage scroll down to the bottom and click desktop site(not on the browser options but on the webpage). Then itll save a cookie remebering the desktop one, everytime you go on it.

iplayer doesnt work like that due to a lack of this option by the bbc. Maybe in the future they can include a set of advance settings in the browser to allow you to automatically force desktop pages you specify.

also godzilla, the full iplayer works, you just need to make it " request desktop site" after you go on the site by hiting the top right button on the browser.

You can use the small apps ffunction, opening a new browser window while at the same time using the main browser. meaning that you can now play music or videos on then browser and continue to browse.

seems ok, not to sure on the lack of order on the app screen and the small app remote app is not customisable. would prefer numbers rather than p-/+.

wifi not auto reconecting after being left in sleep mode for a long time.

ive encountered this issue which I dont think ive had before where by if the tablet is left idle for a couple of hours, when waking it up, the tablet will not auto connect to the wifi.

if I go into settings, then wifi settings it will then reauto connect by itself .

whats going on?

since there is no ir reciever on the ps3, the control app wont work. the ps3 uses bluetooth, which the tablet also has but this is not supported yet.

if you had a sony tv you could use the bravia sync function whIch controls the ps3 using the tv remote, therefore the tablet could indirectly control the ps3.

shame really but we might see something in the next update since the vita does it .

I believe that they are droptested for one meter,and made on a titaniam frme but as always their weakest point is their as screen and anydrop didirectly on the screen on any tablet would easily crack it.

lol, you do know google has rebranded android market as google play to integrate their movie, music, books and apps services? there is still the staff choices for tablets in the app section, but I find all apps work, even the ones designed for phones.

I think that sony should have made every effort to bring those features to more regions. although the psstore atm is pretty rubbish tbh, 15 overpriced ps1 games is all it is but I suspect that their waiting for ics before making improvements or adding regions.

I would suggest not bothering with closing apps, their not really running in the background, it is more a list of recent apps, some still open and some closed. the tablet will close apps when it needs to for the ram.

sd card needs to be part of internal storage

, dlna could do with more formats and ps3 compatibility.

psnetwork should be fully integrated , windows phones does this with xbox and this is meant to be certified with just 15 overpriced ps1 games?,.

ir app could do with a tv guide built in.

keyboard needs fixing on sites with alot of script.

front camera is too dark.

reliability issues when going in and out of sleep mode need sorting.

and sony need to keep us updated with updates!

I had the exact same issue, the music playback would brake up when browing websites, this updates fixed it:

pete, the issue you describe, is not a defect but a software bug which was fixed a very long time ago through a system update. just update it!

camera thumbnail folder glitch, creates massive files..still not fixed!!!!

I am so annoyed that this hasnt been fixed after 6 months. The camera when used creates a big fat thumbnail file which is about 400mb. if I delete it, it comes back again after using the camera. so to use the camera I have to put up with this file.

following acouple of months, I find a new game I want to use, I dont have enough space, strange as I remember having plenty.

so I look and it says I have used 1.2gb on photo/videos, I only have 5 pictures! I go into file manager and find 2x files called thumbnail something followed by various numbers and these were 600mb each!

what a stupid glitched,so annoyed.

as the already tiny space which isnt expandable and I cant use the camera as it creates these files which grow overtime.

sort this out!

thats pretty disapointing,considering that sony is one of the co developers of this tenchnology. the 7" samsung tab supports it so do the xperia phones.

The issue about the memory is very common, hopefully they will address it in the next update.

Video unlimited does not seem to be available on pc.

Video unlimited is so stupid as you have to download the movie. You can only stream it once you start the download so therefore you alway have to have 1.5gb on your tablet free, which is not possible as the memory is too small. The save to sd option merely saves it to tablet memory.

Why there is no direct streaming, i will never know, the funny thing is that its easier to illegaly pirate a movie than watch it on the tablet.

Lovefilm, netflix, click watch bam..your watching. sony..download.... complete stupidity on demand services which work by download is like having a car with no wheels.

well all know that displaying on an external screen is difficult with the tablet. dlna doesnt work with many file types, my tv (ex403) is apparently too old(dispite being 1year old) to support the media remote app, so I cant view my browser on my tv to show my family flash etc. even displaying through the ps3 doesnt work.

so ive found this cable that is microusb to hdmi, since the tablet is usb host, will it work? if it doesnt I would want an update to support this

as the dlna was marketing rubbish as all tablets can do this using apps and the sony apps dont work with all my files.

all I want is to mirror my screen on a tv, will this cable work and if not I request an update to support this.

the insurance shoukd include accidental damage, if not it wouldve been stupid to take it out. so contact the company who the insurance is with.

I am surprised it cracked like that from such a small height. they are drop tested from a meter, or so ive heard. is the screen still working?if so it would be just the from glass which needs replacing which should be cheaper.

well if I was going to use an emulator, i wouldnt have gone for the sony. they need to drastically reduce the price of ancient ps1 games to 99p add sd card storage and increase the range to psp games.

the problem is that because each game needs to be developed on the tegra 2 ie porting wich takes a long and therefore we will never have the range of ps1 games.

so since the physically have to recode every games, they might as well start with the a1 psp titles like god of war. why are they wasting their time with goddamn little mermaid!

have you tried another wifi connection? id say try it to rule out a hardware problem with the tablet. then you will know whether the tablet or router is at fault.
