Hi,

My trusty T1-XP is finally giving up the ghost! It has a problem where it powers up but does not boot up, i have found a work around where i turn the laptop over and give it a gentle tap on the underside and then try switching it back on, 7 out of 10 times this works and the system boots up and the laptop works perfectly.

I'm not sure what's going on with it, possible a loose connection or perhaps the hard drive is on it's way out.

Does anyone have any ideas what could be wrong or experienced similar issues.

Thanks in advance!

    Hi Storm924.

I think you have guessed that it must be a poor contact somewhere which may need a look inside.

It may be worth checking that the Memory Modules are seated correctly by removing and reinserting the RAM.  Have a look at Page 103 of your User Guide: -
