Thanks for adding to this thread kigujra and hevster, I do hope that if we can get the numbers up here sony cant ignore the sentiment of its fans and customers.
I hear you with convergence, its almost like the idea seems great at the time or in development stage but its never actually followed through or it is with such a delay that a new model supersedes it.
on a slight tangent as mentioned earlier the select ap page here in uk has not been truely updated in ages, if I remember correctly it mentions facebook uk and an upgrade to gingerbread from last year.. why not have someone update weekly with sony related tech news...
A lot of info could be conveyedon that page and like you say it just seems like a lack of customer care...
keep posting all (I mean if u like) with your views... its great to hear them and I find it
As sony launched its own bookstore recently I decided to register, as you do, anyway as it took a few minutes to see how poor it is, I did notice they sell newspapers.
Great, as I like the idea of reading a newspaper on my tablet. Initial selection is a bit small but the main 'fly in the ointment' is that newspapers cannot be delivered to tablets!!!!
I like my tablet, I really do but they make it so hard. ![]()
Reading this thread is very much like reading forums for the Sony camera I have, it seems to be same story - a total lack of customer care.
If you say in Dec 2011 you are going to release an update soon and we get to May 2012 without any other communication, it's not really looking after your customers is it!!!
Sony please talk to us, we are where your profit comes from, your customers.
Thanks to everyone posting here, I don't have any further news sadly for you :-( Please keep posting all, this thread is for from over!! I have now linked this page on the Sony Facebook page as from all accounts they read that more than their own forum. Thanks michaelb104 and sehuxle, sorry to hear your pains also!!!
If anyone has a Twitter account if they could tweet a link to Sony UK's Twitter with this thread that would be excellent and much appreciated!!!
Lol my daydream I mentioned in an above post of pulling up outside Sony hq and dropping off every Sony item I own and saying you might want to listen to the fans and customers actually turned into last night's dream and do you what the outcome was...? I seem to recall blank expressions and nothing more... Was it a dream or reality?? (for the record, it was a dream, sadly I don't have the finances to do that, and besides I couldn't talk to all you great guys) :-)
Sorry I'm good at digressing...
Sony if you don't keep listening... We will just keep posting and after yesterday'sshare price news I think it's about time you did, that's delivered with a tone that's not threatening but more tired, downbeat and disappointed :-(
.......
Sony simply finds Europe difficult: many countries, many languages, many different ISP's/networks/content providers, regulations, legal-stuff between countries and multinational content providers, etc. etc.
it is one of the reasons they roll out in Japan and then USA first.
it is the reason that the European country-by-country releases tend to get delayed.
The regional differences go for the ICS update, but also for Apps that come with the Tablet.
I think Sony doesn't want to roll out ICS for individual countries soon-as-it-is-ready - that would trigger even more complaints on even more forums from users from waiting countries for which the update is not yet ready
. Remember: this was the response to the way the Tablet S was launched last year.
Instead, for ICS with all the updated Apps, I think Sony wants to release it for all the European countries at once. I guess we are waiting for the last ICS-app updates for certain countries to be approved and ready for release, and Sony has stumbled on some delay in that last phase. It shouldn't be too long anymore before it comes.
Whilst I agree with everything been said above its not so much about ics, it's the lack of comms from Sony. I understand the difficulty with Europe been multi-lingual etc.. but there is no excuse for no updates in the sense of a few lines.. Samsung learned very quickly about upsetting its customers (I must add I love sony though and do feel that samsung to tend to follow in terms of style, iphone/samsung anyone, still these are just my thoughts) or better communication regarding ics and many other subjects...
You only have to take a few minutes on most threads and forums to see the feelings of Sonys customer... Must it always be us that does the leg work?
You only have to view this thread to see just how unhappy fans are and you only have to look at yesterday's losses to see the effect. Will edit better on arrival home... Least I can update even on the move.

Sony better hurry cos they are really starting to p*ss people off... they do not even state the current situation, terrible customer service. And they wonder why Samsung are the dominant player when it comes to Android... jsut remember Sony.. Nokia were No.1 once too - look at them now... they ignored their customers and now they are quite pathetic.
Pleased you found us zabius, posted on your other thread... Been trawling the net, YouTube, friends etc... The only new bit of info i have is Canada is confirmed by a friend as having the update... Sorry I have no more for you!!
No matter how hard ive been trying today i can't get Sony's attention. Still I will persevere :-)
Take care all, busy day travelling... :-o
Dont think i will be buying anymore Sony products for a while now.... Sweden never seems to get the update either, and also the " playstation store" doesn't exist in sweden either... you only get the crash bandicot game and the other "Playstation games" that u can find in the "Google play" isnt available in this country... thats pretty messed up 2, since a big reason that i wanted this was for the playstation thing...... really dissapointed in all matters at sony...

Edited for profanity
Great thread mate I think you have said how we all feel in europe with a tablet. Communication is key!
I hope we all get answers in the comming days. Cheers though for trying to find any info for us mate. At least you are! If only sony were more like some of the posters on here we might get somewhere What about the moderators ere Have they not had anything to add?
Well good morning all, pleased you got my link yorkie and thanks for your kind words on the headphone review. Nothing more to report other than I checked again this morn and no updates. Emailed stuff and T3 magazine, UK's biggest tech mags over here. I thought they may have closer links with Sony than this forum appears to do..
Hi guys,
UK user here, hoping its released before I goto america.
I fly which is on 25th May, very poor service from Sony on this.
Again I am a all Sony guy at home much like some of you.
I am very close to moving to an ipad due to the poor service for this, and for me thats a huge step.
I waited so long for a decent tablet, and when Sony announced the Tablet S I was so excited, but wireless dropouts rebooting and the like is really annoying me.
I have tweeted this page to @SonyUK by the way.
Heres hoping some good news comes this week.
Dan
I agree with most of you have said, and I support the idea of posting here until someone from Sony read that and reply us, I tried to talk with customer care (by chat) two times, it looks they have a preprepred (copy/paste) answer "we will inform our customers when the ICS is released"
I bought my tablet two months ago, I didn't have any doubt that a big name like Sony will be last to provide ICS as all android tablets manufacturer already did long time ago (even the ones that costs 150 euros !). so frustrating ![]()
