A New Era of Touch-Free 3D Signage: Sony and Ameria Unveil an End-to-End Immersive Display System

Sony and Ameria announce collaboration to deliver one of the first end-to-end 3D gesture-controlled immersive display solutions for retail, corporate and education. The unified hardware–and–software package makes immersive content simple to manage and easy to deploy.

Sony Professional Displays and Solutions and Ameria today announced a new collaboration that brings together Sony’s award-winning Spatial Reality Display (SRD) technology with Ameria’s newly developed StarKit — an intuitive, latency-free gesture control and content-management solution designed specifically to unlock the full potential of immersive 3D visualisation on Sony’s Spatial Reality Display, an innovative glasses-free 3D display that delivers ultra-realistic visuals for any professional setting. The combined offer will debut publicly at ISE 2026 for the European market, marking the first time the full workflow will be demonstrated as a unified system.

Designed around three key components — gesture control, hardware and easy-to-use, modular software platform, an intuitive 3D spatial signage application and a complementary content-management solution — the Ameria StarKit enables users to upload, organise and present existing 3D assets in minutes. The system incorporates two integrated Intel RealSense sensors positioned within a purpose-built mount that aligns perfectly with Sony’s SRD, enabling plug-and-play installation. The sensors track hand movement in real time and allow users to interact with 3D content without touching the screen, creating an intuitive and engaging experience ideal for customer-facing environments.

By combining Ameria’s interaction technology and the content software platform, Sony will be able to deliver a complete out of the box 3D interactive signage system built around Sony’s SRD for the first time world-wide. In addition to the high visual quality and convincing glasses-free 3D experience Sony’s Spatial Reality Display is known for, this collaboration introduces new interactive signage use cases across retail, corporate and educational environments. Sony and Ameria are also planning to expand to markets where 3D data is already heavily in use or highly desirable, e.g. healthcare, architecture, planning, design and engineering. Ameria’s StarKit addresses this challenge, offering a seamless, out-of-the-box workflow that allows customers to deploy immersive 3D experiences without specialist development knowledge. In addition, the system offers industry-leading accuracy in gesture control. Whether clicking with a finger movement, pinching with your thumb and index finger, or rotating objects in 3D space – everything is easy and intuitive to use.

Sony and Ameria are facing growing demand for immersive, ROI-focused, and interactive solutions in retail, museums, and corporate showrooms, while keeping sustainability goals in mind. One of the advantages of immersive 3D displays in retail is the significant reduction need for physical product samples. With Sony’s SRD and Ameria’s StarKit, retailers can present full product ranges — including colours, materials and configurations — virtually, without manufacturing or transporting multiple variants. This reduces inventory requirements, lowers shipping and storage emissions, and helps minimise waste from unused or outdated samples. The approach supports more efficient lifecycle management across product lines while enabling richer in-store experiences. This directly complements Sony’s Road to Zero environmental programme, which aims to achieve a zero environmental footprint by 2050 by reducing resource consumption, lowering CO₂ emissions and supporting more sustainable customer ecosystems.

At a time when brands are looking for richer customer experiences and greater operational efficiency, this collaboration delivers a truly unique proposition,” said Rik Willemse, Head of Professional Displays and Solutions, Sony Europe. “Sony’s Spatial Reality Display already sets the benchmark for high-quality glasses-free 3D. Paired with Ameria’s gesture-control and content-management capabilities, it opens the door to real-world applications that previously required complex, bespoke setups. This makes Ameria a strategic partner for Sony Professional Displays & Solutions and the further development of our products. We are confident that together we can launch a genuine game changer that will transform how we work and interact in 3D, as well as how we present products, while also making the process more efficient, effective and sustainable.”

The package will be offered through selective distribution across Europe, with units expected to be available from ISE 2026. Ameria’s StarKit supports the SRD model ELF-SR2. A three-year warranty on both Sony and Ameria hardware will be included as standard, with software licensing for Ameria’s content-management applications available on an annual basis.

Our work with Sony represents a major step forward in making immersive 3D experiences part of everyday customer engagement. By combining the precision of the Spatial Reality Display with our StarKit, we’re giving retailers and brands a completely new way to bring products to life — intuitively, interactively and without barriers” said Albrecht Metter, CEO of Ameria. “We are working on application scenarios with our first customers, and interest is high due to StarKit’s easy deployment. Initial implementations are already planned for Q1/2026. Together, Sony and Ameria are offering a revolutionary plug-and-play solution that makes using 3D easy in any setting. Many companies are looking for ways to display their 3D content and make it interactive. New experiences are created in retail stores, at trade fairs, exhibitions, and museums, but also in education, healthcare, engineering, architecture and real estate. The use cases across various industries show the technology's versatility and reinforce our conviction that we are addressing a genuine cross-industry need.”

Visitors to ISE 2026 will be able to experience the full system at the Sony booth 3E300, including live demonstrations of gesture-controlled 3D product exploration, interactive signage scenarios, and real-time content-management workflows.
