Sony Professional Solutions powers the interactive education generation at Bett 2018

Education meets interaction at this year’s Bett as Sony Professional demonstrates solutions to enable the future of collaborative learning and teaching.

London (Excel, Hall/Stand: B250) – 2nd November, 2017: Today’s learning environment is more interactive than ever before. Technology and digital tools are transforming the way students learn, enhancing teaching across schools, colleges and Universities.

At Bett 2018, Sony will be showcasing solutions which inspire learners to work collaboratively both in and out of the classroom, as well as enabling educational establishments to create content that is engaging and interesting. Sony will demonstrate how they are making learning smarter, more immersive and more collaborative for both students and teachers.

Manage

The number of AV display devices employed within Universities is growing and controlling an entire campus can be a challenge for even the most seasoned AV professional.

Being shown for the first time at Bett 2018, TEOS Manage streamlines the control and maintenance of networked displays, projectors and other IP devices across any education establishment. Monitor their status via a friendly dashboard-style interface and group devices by location for easy management and scheduling of digital signage. TEOS Manage can even pinpoint issues with devices that aren’t working – putting you in complete control of all your connected devices and content, all the time.

Engage

Research shows both teachers and students are keen for increased interactivity in the classroom, with 97% preferring it in the learning space. 58% of teachers said it increased engagement with students and 53% said it helped create a dynamic learning environment*.

Sony will be showcasing its active learning solution, Vision Exchange, which is a collaboration solution that encourages freedom and supports students with active learning. By bringing together students, lecturers and presenters in a dynamic workgroup-based environment, lecturers can inspire knowledge exchange, creative dialogue and higher order thinking.

Scalable, flexible and easy to configure, Vision Exchange lets students work collaboratively, mirroring their own smart phones, tablets or laptops to a group screen. The lecturer can manage the session by monitoring each group’s content and share with other groups for further discussion.

Present

Sony will be showcasing an exciting range of visual presentation solutions that combine impressive picture quality with versatile installation options and refreshingly low ownership costs.

For larger spaces, such as lecture theatres, halls and large classrooms, the F-series 3LCD laser and lamp projectors will bring learning to life with impressive brightness and picture quality, low ownership costs and the flexibility of interchangeable lenses to suit every installation need.

Meanwhile, for smaller teaching spaces, the VPL-PHZ10 compact laser projector offers a generous 5,000 lumen output – plus up to 20,000 hours of zero maintenance operation without the worry of sudden lamp failures.

Also on show will be the latest BRAVIA 4K Professional Displays. BRAVIA adds even more creative possibilities with a growing choice of complete solutions, including Digital Signage software by TDM that lets institutions create eye-catching multimedia displays for reception areas, cafes and sports halls with no extra hardware needed. Touchscreen overlays turn BRAVIA Professional Displays into a super-size touch panel – ideal for encouraging students to get hands-on with their learning.

Capture

Video content is becoming an increasingly popular resource for educators. In response to this, Sony has partnered with UbiCast to make it easy for teachers to create and share rich media video for teaching and training applications including lecture capture and e-learning.

UbiCast orchestrates every phase of producing and delivering high-quality video content - from recording and editing to publishing, managing and user analytics. UbiCast is shown at Bett with Sony’s SRG Series remote PTZ cameras that capture crisp 4K or Full HD video in classrooms, laboratories, lecture theatres and auditoriums.

Case Study

Sony works closely with its customers to understand their needs, which allows the company to build customer feedback into the design process and develop solutions that address the real needs of the education market.

For example, Sony has partnered with the University of Wales Trinity St. David (UWTSD) to bring the next generation of education technology to 25,000 students through its workgroup style active learning solution, Vision Exchange.

By working in close partnership with Sony, UWTSD will become one of the first faculties in the world to completely remove lecture theatres and auditoriums in favour of cutting-edge classrooms that enable collaborative and interactive learning styles to improve engagement.
