Sony and Kinly kit out Legal & General’s state of the art Cardiff facility
Legal & General instructed Sony partner, Kinly, to develop an innovative AV package for its new state-of-the-art site in Cardiff. Through this new site, L&G would consolidate two of its Group offices into a single 120,000 sq. ft facility, enhancing collaboration between employees and clients throughout the Welsh region. The move would see 1,800 L&G employees relocating into a modern, eight-storey office within Cardiff’s Interchange building.
In line with Legal & General’s wider commitments to ESG, their fit out will target net zero carbon commitments and reduced embodied carbon throughout the base build as well as targeting Well Gold and BREEAM standards. These goals played an important role in how Kinly approached the project's delivery and are ultimately one of the deciding factors in why they chose to recommend Sony displays as the best option to fulfil this requirement.

With the aim of transforming how employees, customers and partners work together, Kinly utilized Sony BRAVIA displays across the estate. The full range was utilized from 50” model display all the way up to 100” model.
Larger spaces include a town hall and a 3-way divisible room, with further floors providing training rooms, BYOD pods, and remote meeting rooms. The reception space was made to impress, by featuring the BRAVIA 100” FW-100BZ40J display for digital signage communications. The selection of meeting rooms have a combination of either single or dual Sony display with the display size determined based on room layout. The 3-way divisible space utilized dual BRAVIA FW-85BZ40H with x3 65” Sony repeater displays. The dedicated training rooms also benefited from the impressive dual 85” display set up.
Kinly also implemented a number of digital signage totems encompassing 55” displays with their touch overlay, allowing for employees to view & interact with digital signage across the group and wayfinding facilities.
“We recommended the Sony BRAVIA displays in this installation due to their exceptional quality, connectivity options & commercial offering. Legal & General wanted to future-proof their new Cardiff office, and they are assured long-lasting reliable display performance from the Sony AV products chosen.” says Tom Rainford from Kinly.
These AV solutions from Sony, implemented by Kinly, play a pivotal role in the formation of the new state-of-the-art facility for the company, maximising the potential for collaboration as well as enhancing the user experience. Since the install, these innovative technologies are being used regularly and to their full capacity for maximum workplace impact.
Ian Bates, Workplace Technology Product Manager, Property & Workplace at Legal & General, said: “We have partnered in delivering a first-class AV experience for our new building in Cardiff and as a result, our employees will not only have a heightened training and meeting room journey but will also be able to wow future customers in our new 8th floor business suite.”
