Sony will start providing NDI system usage as standard free of charge for its cameras
Weybridge, November 18th: Sony will provide the use of the NDI® system as a standard feature free of charge in NDI-compatible remote camera systems. Going forward, the NDI system will be available for both newly sold and existing products through a firmware upgrade or a limited-time complimentary NDI license provision. The eligible models that can utilize the NDI system free of charge are as follows.

Firmware upgrade and other support for each model
PTZ Auto Framing Camera BRC-AM7 (Scheduled for release in November 2024)
The NDI system can be used free of charge from the time of release.
Cinema Line camera ILME-FR7
By upgrading to Ver. 3.0, which is scheduled to be available from June 2025, the NDI system can be used free of charge.
PTZ Auto Framing camera SRG-A40, SRG-A12
By upgrading to Ver. 3.0, which is scheduled to be available from July 2025, the NDI system can be used free of charge.
Pan-Tilt-Zoom 4K color video camera BRC-X400, Pan-Tilt-Zoom HD color video camera SRG-X400, SRG-X120 and remote cameras : SRG-XB25, SRG-XP1
From November 18, 2024, NDI will be available through a complimentary NDI license, on the license sales website.

Free provision of NDI Licenses for cameras ILME-FR7, SRG-A40 and SRG-A12
Should an NDI license be required prior to the release of the new versions of the ILME-FR7, SRG-A40, and SRG-A12, a complimentary NDI license will be provided from November 18, 2024. Please check the license sales site for details regarding the end date of the free provision.
