Camera Verify Now Supports Video for External Sharing of Authenticity Information

Sony has announced that Camera Verify (beta), a feature of its Camera Authenticity Solution available to news organizations that enables external sharing of content authenticity information via a dedicated URL, now supports video in addition to still images. Additionally, the Image Verification Pre-Check Software Development Kit (SDK), which can be integrated into news organisations' own systems, also now supports video.

Through the expansion of services for content authenticity verification and dissemination, for both still images and video, Sony aims to support news organizations in efficiently delivering information with verified authenticity.

Camera Verify (beta) Now Supports Video

Camera Verify is a feature that allows verification results from the Image Validation site to be shared via a dedicated URL. News organisations can use this URL to communicate content authenticity through their own channels. With video support now available, authenticity information for video content can be shared externally, in addition to still images.

Key verification results available via Camera Verify:

  • Verification that still images and videos were captured by a camera, using digital signatures including C2PA (Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity) standard compliance
  • Display of video or image capture time and authenticity verification results
  • Verification that a real-world subject was photographed, using 3D depth information detection

Image Validation Pre-check Software Development Kit (SDK) Now Supports Video

The Image Verification Pre-Check SDK is a software development kit that allows users to check whether content contains a camera signature in a local environment. By integrating this SDK into their own systems, news organizations can verify whether image and video content includes a camera signature, without changing existing workflows. This helps streamline content sorting and supports efficient processing flows.
