Visual Media Spain optimises live multi-camera production with Sony Cinema Line technology

Madrid, 7th October 2025 Visual Media España, a leading Spanish audiovisual solutions company specializing in live productions and film projects, has successfully implemented an innovative configuration of Sony FX9 and BURANO cinema cameras to cover iconic singer Dellafuente's live concert, with a total of 16 camera positions fully integrated into a broadcast workflow.

The concert, held in summer 2025 at the Metropolitano stadium in Madrid, achieved the cinematic aesthetic so sought after in today's broadcast environment thanks to the integration of Sony's Cinema Line family of cameras, positioning itself as a benchmark in the audiovisual industry.

The challenge: cinematic aesthetics for live events

The collaboration between Visual Media España and Sony has been forged over many years and has allowed the company to gain first-hand access to the latest innovations and optimize technological integration in its most ambitious projects.

One example of this cooperation was the technical challenge of adapting cinema cameras to work as part of a conventional broadcast chain, with extensive SMPTE fibre runs and live colour control via Sony RCP-3500 panels. This control, common in television environments, was applied for the first time to Cinema Line cameras in a large-scale live production.

The system designed by the Visual Media España technical team allowed BURANO and FX9 cameras to be operated as if they were conventional broadcast chains, maintaining the creative flexibility of digital cinema together with the operability and centralised control typical of television production.

"Having Sony's support on a project of this magnitude allows us to ensure technological reliability and manage it in an integrated way within Visual Media's operations, guaranteeing the correct functioning of each element in a highly demanding live environment," says Alfonso Sainz, technical manager at Visual Media España.

The best of cinema and television

The solution allowed director of photography Lucas Casanovas and the operators to maintain the cinematic aesthetic without sacrificing the operational agility of broadcast. Months of prior rehearsals ensured flawless execution and the satisfaction of exceeding technical and artistic expectations.

"At Sony, we work to ensure that technology drives creativity without limits. Seeing our BURANO and FX9 cameras successfully integrated into a live multi-camera production, while maintaining cinematic quality, demonstrates the potential of combining the best of cinema and live audiovisual production," says Marta Bragado, Account Manager Sales South, Sony Europe.
