AV-Professional expands its rental portfolio by adding a 40 square meter modular Sony Crystal LED VERONA

Vienna –15th September 2025 – Sony is pleased to announce today that specialist AV-Professional will now offer its customers the  Crystal LED VERONA video wall on a rental basis. The specialist for professional audio and video equipment, based in the Austrian capital Vienna, is the world's first rental company to add the Sony VERONA 1.5 mm LED wall to its range. With the VERONA Crystal LED (C-LED) video wall system (ZRD-VP15EB), video walls for high-quality virtual reality productions can be created with an area of up to 40 square meters. Also new to the AV-Professional portfolio are Sony's OCELLUS camera tracking system and Virtual Production Toolset software solution. With this step, AV-Professional is underlining its leading role in the field of state-of-the-art AV technologies and laying the foundation for new standards in virtual production and broadcasting.

Quick and easy set up

The C-LED VERONA offers system integrators and rental companies exceptional installation freedom. The square LED modules are easy to install without special knowledge, fixtures, or other complex equipment. The modules, which are connected in stacks, are extremely robust and feature protective measures to minimize the risk of costly damage during installation and operation. These include LED surface protection that prevents LEDs from being bent or damaged.

Deep blacks and maximum color reproduction

VERONA is optimized for demanding virtual production applications. AV-Professional uses VERONA modules with a 1.5 mm pixel pitch (ZRD-VP15EB), which can be controlled via the Brompton Tessera SX40 processor. Sony's newly developed Deep Black and Anti-Reflection surface technology delivers very high image quality with an impressive brightness of 1,500 cd/m2, a wide color spectrum, and a high refresh rate, complemented by extremely deep black levels that enable the creation of the most realistic virtual sets possible. The VERONA series uses high-performance LED driver ICs (integrated circuits) that achieve extremely high refresh rates of up to 7,680 Hz. A low refresh rate on an LED display can lead to flickering and image artifacts, which are particularly distracting at today's high frame rates in virtual production environments.

OCELLUS – Ideal for VR and AR productions

Along with the VERONA video wall, AV-Professional is also adding OCELLUS to its rental program. OCELLUS (ASR-CT1) is Sony's first camera tracking system specifically designed for augmented reality and virtual production applications in broadcast and cinema. OCELLUS relies on SLAM tracking technology. SLAM stands for ‘Simultaneous Localization and Mapping’ and allows markerless tracking across multiple sensors. OCELLUS consists of a sensor unit, a so-called processing box, and three lens encoders and can be used with Sony Cinema Line cameras, Sony system cameras, and cameras from other manufacturers. The VR portfolio at AV-Professional is complemented by Sony's Virtual Production Tool Set, a camera and display plugin for Unreal Engine and calibration applications.

With its new VERONA Crystal LED video wall, AV-Professional rounds off its rental offering for high-quality Virtual Productions. At the IBC in Amsterdam they sealed the successful business: Tefik Odza, Senior Key Account Manager DACH, Sony Europe,  Fabien Pisano, Head of Sales Sony Professional Europe, David Knapp, Managing Director AV-Professional, Yasuharu Nomura, Head of VP Technology & Services Business, Sony, Junya Moshizuki, Buseiness Development Manager VP Technology, Sony.

The investment in a Sony Verona C-LED wall is part of our internationalization strategy. After intensive market research, we decided on the best quality system on the market. Sony impressed us with its ecosystem of camera, C- LED wall, tracking system, and software appliances for virtual production. We are delighted to be the first rental company worldwide to add the Sony Verona 1.5mm LED to our portfolio“ says David Knapp, Managing Director of AV-Professional.

„Our Crystal LED VERONA video wall is the top of the range for demanding virtual production applications,“ says Tefik Odza, Senior Key Account Manager DACH at Sony Europe. ”With exceptional black levels, low reflection, high brightness, a wide color gamut, and high refresh rate, as well as installation-friendly features, VERONA meets the expectations of cinematographers who need an optimal shooting environment."
