Introducing Sony’s two new advanced medical monitors for exceptional clarity and visual detail
Weybridge, July 4th, 2025 - Sony is proud to announce the introduction of its latest full line-up of advanced medical monitors, now available in three sizes: 27-inch (LMD-27M1MD), 32-inch (LMD-32M1MD), and 43-inch (LMD-43M1MD). The 27-inch and 43-inch monitors are new additions to the line-up, while the 32-inch monitor was successfully launched in February of this year. Each model is designed to meet the demanding needs of medical professionals, providing exceptional clarity and visual detail critical for accurate procedures. Notably, Sony is the first company to have its medical monitors certified with VESA Display HDR 1000, ensuring the highest quality of visual performance in the medical market. This certification delivers exceptional image quality that enhances diagnostic confidence and procedural precision.

The new monitors boast impressive brightness and contrast levels, achieving a peak brightness between 1850cd/m² and up to 2250cd/m² for the 3 models1. Each model features a remarkable contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1, which enhances the viewing experience for medical professionals.
The monitors incorporate advanced technologies such as Mini-LED technology, which offers great clarity and visual detail for precise medical imaging. Additionally, Sony’s Backlight Master Drive technology enhances brightness and contrast for improved visibility, key in clinical settings. With 4K resolution, these monitors ensure enhanced accuracy in medical applications, while the wide color gamut provides true-to-life visuals critical for medical diagnostics.
Designed for versatility, the monitors are suitable for various medical fields, including surgery,
and endoscopy. They also feature anti-reflection capabilities that minimize glare, improving visibility in bright operating rooms. The ergonomic design of the monitors is lightweight and slim, facilitating easier handling and installation.
In line with Sony's commitment to sustainability, like the other models of the medical monitor line up, the LMD-32M1MD has reduced plastic packaging by 86%, while the LMD-27M1MD has reduced plastic packaging by 84% compared to the previous model, LMD-X2710MD. This initiative reflects Sony's dedication to minimizing environmental impact while delivering high-quality products.
Furthermore, these monitors incorporate advanced energy management technologies that optimize power consumption without compromising clinical performance. Sony’s intelligent brightness distribution system redirects energy saved from darker screen areas to enhance visibility in critical regions, ensuring optimal image quality while reducing overall power usage. Product development is guided by direct feedback from medical professionals, ensuring reliability and robustness in demanding healthcare environments.
"At Sony, we are committed to advancing medical technology that enhances the capabilities of healthcare professionals," said Claire Bregeon, Head of Marketing, Healthcare Solutions Europe. "Our new line of medical monitors not only meets the highest standards of visual performance but also reflects our dedication to sustainability and innovation in the medical field."
The LMD-27M1MD, LMD-32M1MD, and LMD-43M1MD are now available to order. For more information about Sony’s Healthcare Solutions, please visit Sony Healthcare .
