Sony launches two new camera power supply solutions to meet creator needs
15th October 2024, Sony today announced the launch of two new camera power supply solutions for Alpha series and Cinema Line cameras using NP-FZ100 batteries which aim to meet the growing needs of creators: the BC-ZD1 battery charger, which charges two batteries simultaneously and the DC-C1 DC coupler, which supplies power directly to the camera body from an external power source.
By expanding its range of power solutions, including genuine battery products, Sony aims to enable extended photo and video shooting, contributing to a more efficient workflow for creators.
Battery Charger BC-ZD1
The BC-ZD1 is a high-speed charger for Sony’s high-capacity NP-FZ100 batteriesi. It can simultaneously charge two batteries in approximately 155 minutesii (full chargeiii) when connected to a USB Power Delivery (PD) compatible power supply with 30W or higher output and a USB cable with USB PD support (3A) or higher current.

DC Coupler DC-C1
The DC-C1 DC couplerv allows for a stable power supply during long shoots or streaming by providing continuous, reliable power to cameras compatible with NP-FZ100 or NP-FW50 rechargeable battery packs using an external power source such as a USB PD (65 W or more) compatible AC adapter and USB cable with USB PD support (5 A).

- To prevent accidental cable disconnection, the DC-C1 is equipped with the locking screw holevi, or an anchor loop can be used to secure the cable to the USB port
