Sony Unveils New BRAVIA® Theatre Home Audio Lineup for Enhancing Home Cinema Experience

Sony under its “Cinema is Coming Home” vision, launched new BRAVIA Theatre home audio products and the BRAVIA 3 II and Bravia 2 II TVs, offering more ways than ever to create a powerful cinema experience at home. The new BRAVIA Theatre lineup includes BRAVIA Theatre Bar 7 and BRAVIA Theatre Bar 5, as well as the optional speakers such as BRAVIA Theatre Sub 9, BRAVIA Theatre Sub 8, and BRAVIA Theatre Rear 9. These new products are designed and engineered to create a wider, more immersive surround field for deeper cinematic impact. BRAVIA 3 II TV is a mid-tier LED TV available in sizes up to 100 inches for a big-screen experience at home. Also, introduced is a new entry model Bravia 2 II available from 43 up to 75 inches.

Sony today unveiled the 2025 line-up of BRAVIA Theatre home audio products, meticulously crafted to bring the best out of the cinematic experience with immersive surround sound engineered to perfectly suit the home cinema setup. The new BRAVIA Theatre line-up addresses the differences between cinema and home viewing environments. Cinemas utilise numerous speakers positioned on the ceiling and walls to create an immersive localised sound field. With BRAVIA Theatre, you can experience a comparable cinematic audio experience in your own home. The new range includes the BRAVIA Theatre Bar 6 (3.1.2ch soundbar with a wireless subwoofer) and the BRAVIA Theatre System 6 (5.1ch home theatre system), which deliver a standalone immersive cinematic audio experience. In addition, the BRAVIA Theatre Rear 8 (rear speakers) and the BRAVIA Theatre Sub 7 (subwoofer) provide a wide range of sub speaker options when they connect to a compatible soundbar[i] such as BRAVIA Theatre Bar 9 to even more accurately channel the cinematic experience at home. Sony Europe today revealed its 2025 BRAVIA TV line-up, bringing even more possibilities to enjoy fascinating cinematic worlds and stories at home by getting immersed in stunning pictures and sounds. BRAVIA was renewed as a brand last year to bring together all of Sony’s home cinema products, offering film lovers a one-stop destination to enjoy their beloved content. Now, tapping into the technologies and features from the recent critically acclaimed flagship BRAVIA 9, the new BRAVIA 8 II, BRAVIA 5, and BRAVIA 3 usher in Sony’s signature cinematic excellence powered by the cutting-edge XR Processor with an AI scene recognition system[i] across screen sizes ranging from as large as 98” in the new BRAVIA 5 to 43” in BRAVIA 3 to entertain the most demanding and casual viewers alike. Sony develops next-generation display system with proprietary signal processing technology for individual RGB control of high-density LED backlights

Sony announced today it has developed a new display system incorporating an independent drive RGB LED with a high-density LED backlight that can individually control three primary colours – R (red), G (green), and B (blue) [RGB], and suitable for large screens. This panel allows each RGB colour to emit light independently, resulting in high colour purity and the ability to reproduce images with a vibrant, wide colour gamut. Additionally, the display system is equipped with Sony's proprietary advanced backlight control technology, designed to maximise the panel's characteristics. This backlight control technology enables faithful reproduction of delicate hues and subtle gradations of light across every corner of the display, even on large screens. In cinematic works such as films, the ability to convey narrative expression relies significantly on the subtleties of colour and black representation, as well as the gradation of light. This system enhances these elements to provide image quality that faithfully reflects the creator's intent and is suitable for both film production and home viewing as well.
